About Central Dockyard Laboratory
Central Dockyard Laboratory is located at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is a part of the Indian Naval Dockyard system. By doing in-depth research and testing in various departments of the naval field like mechanical, non-destructive, and chemical, and by providing them with better products, Central Dockyard Laboratory in making our naval front more stronger and more efficient. The types of mechanical testing done by Central Dockyard Laboratory are shock and vibration test on rubber mounts, tensile test and hardness test of steel, and noise and vibration test of materials. The types of non-destructive testing being done at Central Dockyard Laboratory are ultrasonic testing (ultrasonic flaw detection and magnetic particle examination) of all the plates and forgings. Lastly, the types of chemical tests that are being carried out in the lab are the testing of chemical properties of oils, lubricants, coolants, De mineral water, paints and enamels, metals, and alloys.
