About Regional Test Centre-Cum-Technology Back-up Unit for Solar Thermal Devices
Sardar Patel Renewable energy research institute as the name suggests is a research institute with an objective to study and drive development of renewable energy. As a part of this initiative, regional test centres have been established under the solar energy division of the institute for carrying out testing of solar thermal gadgets. One of their testing laboratory is situated in Pune, Maharashtra which is equipped with modern machineries and latest technologies to undertake thermal testing. In this lab performance tests are carried out on solar gadgets like flat plate collector and box type cooker. Not only does the lab provide testing facility it also provides technical backup to industries for maintaining quality standards in manufacturing solar thermal devices.
