Export Inspection lab, established in 1963 ensures development of export trading through quality control and hence set up a lab for quality testing. For providing these facilities the lab is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The lab conducts chemical testing on materials like Fish and Fishery Products, milk & Milk Products, Food Grains, Pulses, Cereals, Fruits and Vegetable products, Potable Water etc. which undergo tests like Odour, Ethyl alcohol content, pH, Moisture, Fat, Protein, Crude Fibre, Iodine value, Ethion, Chloramphenicol and many more. The lab also conducts biological testing on materials like Fish & Seafood, Milk & Dairy Products, Herbs ,Spices & Condiments, Vegetables and Vegetable products, Fruit & Fruit Products, Packaged drinking water etc. which undergo tests like Yeast & Mold, Salmonella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Coliform, Escherichia coli, Faecal Streptococcoi, Total Plate Count/Aerobic Plate Count and many more. The lab is equipped with modern technology.
